Nottingham Congregational Church is a member for the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC) The CCCC is a theologically conservative denomination believing in the autonomy of each local church under the Headship of Christ.
HISTORY

The Nottingham Congregational Christian Church was called together on October 13, 1974, when a small group of  seventeen Christians convened to worship and work together for the Lord in a Trinitarian fellowship. Our doctrine is that of the Cambridge, Savoy and Westminster Standards. It was our need to worship within the framework of a Trinitarian doctrine that initially inspired us to come together.

GOVERNMENT

We are proud to be Congregationalists at heart. In our church, the highest authority is God and His Word. Next in authority is the congregation. Although we respect the spiritual advice of our elders  and the business advice of our trustees, it is the body of believers who govern our church…a tradition given us by our New England forefathers.

We are a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC); a fellowship of churches proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world.

WORSHIP

The Church has a warm, inviting atmosphere and is welcome to all who wish to worship the Lord. The Church also hosts many other programs throughout the week:  Our worship service is traditional and respectful. We feel this is in keeping with the holiness God requires of us in His sanctuary..

We are blessed to have Reverend Edward Whitman, affectionately known as “Pastor Ed”, attending as Intentional Interim Pastor. Reverend Whitman is a graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with further studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago and Westminster Theological Seminary in California. Pastor Ed also hold ministerial credentials with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference.

After almost four decades of conducting pastoral work in New York, Cape Cod and for our neighbors in Barrington, New Hampshire, Pastor Ed decided to pursue Interim Ministry Training, help churches during the transition time between pastors. Pastor Ed currently resides in Raymond, New Hampshire with his wife Sandy. The Church is excited to have Pastor Ed until a permanent pastor is elected. Come help us welcome him while we Worship the Lord.
